One colour letterpress wedding

I love one colour letterpress wedding invitations!

This is a simple design, where we let all the beautiful typography and letterpress do all the work, I love working with type and I love working with brides that really get into the creative process and let me try new things.

I wish you all the best for your wedding this weekend Magdalin, I know you'll have a beautiful future together. Thank you for choosing to work with me on your invitations, you could have to be one of the sweetest brides.

"I am so glad I found you to do my invites!! Its great when you are not only happy with the product but have someone that is so nice that you can work with. Decreases the stress a lot!!!! Really appreciate all your work on this."

A letterpress wedding in Adelaide

Jenny was a very creative bride and enjoyed the design process so very much, this makes designing invitations so much easier for me. To respect their culture and their families, we wanted to give them a subtle touch of Asia to their invitation, I really think we achieved this with the dotting of the delicate floral feature at the top of the invitation. This piece is very unique and very much one of my favourites. For this invitation we used a silver for the text and a deep mauve for the floral decoration, this was to match the bridesmaids dresses. The envelopes were lined with this gorgeous lace paper, this is a Japanese paper and so soft to touch.

We started this invitation with the intention of using an envelope made from tracing paper, so almost completely translucent, but we changed our minds at the last minute - so I'm on the hunt now for another daring bride to try this very unique approach - is that you!

All the very best for your wedding day Jenny, I really enjoyed working with you on this invitation and I wish you both all the very best for your future together.

A Letterpress wedding for Ju Lee and Marcus

I absolutely adore this invitation and this is also what I love about letterpress, we really let the impression of my beautiful antique printing press do all the work. If you are on a budget, a one colour invitation is just a gorgeous solution, matched with a coloured envelope and some beautiful typography, this invitation was a delight! And I am pretty sure that Ju Lee's guests were completely impressed with their first impression of her wedding. She is a lady with very refined taste and I am sure the wedding was just as stunning. Thank you Ju Lee for letting me design and print your invitation for this very special day.

We kick off the year with our first baby announcement for 2010.
Welcome baby Christian, your parents have impeccable taste, your mum was a pleasure to work with - so I think things are off to a great start for you. This is a single colour announcement with this gorgous deep blue and we matched it with a beautiful laid envelope. The design is simple and this type of work really lets the beauty of letterpress shine through.
All the best to you all for the year ahead.

V day

V day, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

With Valentines Day just around the corner, what better way to say "I love you" than a thoughtful and lovingly handmade card from VINCE.

Available now from selected retailers and now in my online shop.

This card is a standard A6 card (148mm x 105mm folded) one colour letterpress printed, it is a very interactive card, where the lovely receiver of your card can create their own message. The card is blank inside and the message is simple. Fill in the dots to create a love heart. This card is called "Loving you is easy"

Healsville Sanctuary and Australia's endangered species

In 2009 I was involved in this very exciting initiative from Craft Victoria.

Healsville Sanctuary were looking for some new products for their Zoo's shop. The brief was to create a product that was also educational in sharing with people the plight of 6 Australian Endangered Species; The Mountain Pigmy Possum, The Helmeted Honey Eater, The Orange Bellied Parrot, The Southern Corroboree Frog, The Spotted Tree Frog and The Tasmanian Devil. Each of these critters future hangs in the balance and I was very honoured to be a part of such a project.

Every card tells a little story about each animal and is made from my gorgeous seeded paper, this paper is embedded with Lemon Scented Bottlebrush, so following the instructions on the back of the card, it can be planted - it just keeps on giving!!

These little cards have been so popular at the Sanctuary, Healsville recently made another order of stationery. These cards are sold exclusively with Healsville, but I do think it is well worth the trip to pick up one of these very special cards.

My invitations

My invitations, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

Here is a little taste of my style for our wedding invitations. I used a handmade Italian paper it had these gorgeous deckled edges, so there was no cutting to be done. Each piece inside the envelope was a different colour, the invitation was this blue black, our information card was a lime green, our wishing well card was a marsh mellow pink and the RSVP cards were a steely silver and this was all bundled together with this gorgeous french stripe ribbon. Our envelopes were a beautiful pale blue and even though there wasn't much blue throughout the wedding, I loved that we had our "something blue" delivered to each and every guest.

We're married!

We're married!, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

Running my own little business and months of planning have left me with little and even no time to tell everyone about my own wedding.
It was an amazing day, leading up to it was one of the most stressful times of my life, being a creative person, I put my heart and soul into every little detail.

I've got so much to share, including a list of amazing suppliers I would love to recommend to people. Months of beautiful letterpress work I have been doing and some really amazing projects with Healsville Sanctuary and other beautiful organisations, some new VINCE stockists, some new stationery to add to my range and all the little details from my own wedding - especially the invitations and all the fun I had doing my own letterpress work.

I will be back soon with so much more to share.

Supernova

So how's your Spanish?
A few weeks ago a lovely representative from Canson sent me an email with some questions about what I do, she wanted to include me in a Canson Newsletter. I can't read it and I hope they said a whole bunch of nice things. Can anyone help?

Letterpress elegance

When I work with brides we start by throwing around different ideas and these are mostly words or phrases to describe the wedding. On this occasion the key word was "elegance", this was to go with the gorgeous venue Jenny had chosen for her reception, the exclusive Melbourne Club. So the pressure was on, as we all know the invitation is the first impression for our guests on this very special day and Jenny's guests are in for something quite beautiful.

Will work for gorgeous clothing

Yeojin Bae, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

There's nothing like a good blind impression!

These cards are slightly bigger than business cards measuring at 128mm x 85mm, they are for fashion designer Yeojin Bae. I just wish I could survive on clothing because this could have been a sweet deal. Check out her clothing here and if your in Sydney this weekend, swing by her pop store in Potts Point to check our her cards...I mean her jumpsuits.

Catherine's concertina invitation

Catherine's Wedding, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

I didn't post a very clear photo of this illustration, so I though I should show it off a bit better.

Double the letterpress

Troy and Liselle, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

Troy and Liselle had to have this letterpress invitation double sided. I loved the pattern and so we decided to lightly press this pattern and really give a good impression to the invitation and it wording. We used a robust stock of 400gsm to give us a little cushion for this double sided work. I think it turned out beautifully and the colours were almost exactly as they had hoped. I really do love these simple designs, it really allows letterpress to do all the work.

Congratulations to both of you.

Looking for something a little different?

Rachael and Andrew, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

Rachael came to me with her request and her own design - A letterpress invitation on a coaster! I jumped at the opportunity and the results, I hope, speak for themselves. The coaster board was perfect for this invitation and what a wonderful and unique idea.

So now I am looking for more adventurous brides who might want to make a round invitation on a coaster!

This a a one colour invitation and printed double sided. They came with little matching envelopes with a red lining.

Congratulations Rachael and Andrew can't wait to see the photos!

Jane's Port Douglas wedding

Jane was a bride who knew what she wanted. Right from the start she selected this motif and the colour scheme - it was my job to make it work. I hope I did! This is a 2 colour square invitation with a beautiful musk and rich graphite grey. It's a simple design that lets letterpress do the work.

Jane decided not to go ahead with lining for her invitations, if she have of - this is the type of lining we would have used for her. I love this combination!

Jane's wedding is this weekend, I hope they have a blast and I can't wait to see the photos. Congratulations Jane and Chris.

Catherine's garden wedding

Catherine's Wedding, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

This was a most unusual request and because I find it difficult to say no, I said yes to this concertina invitation, with 3 panels and A4 finished flat card, it was a delight to work on this invitation and one of my favourites so far.

There were 2 types of green for this garden wedding, the bride wanted her floral design to look a little wild (a word she used) and I loved this.
I hope she does too and I hope she has the perfect wedding day.

Baby birthday

baby birthday, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

Happy birthday Charlotte!

This invitation was a delight to work with, a simple one colour invitation sometimes is all that's needed - I think these are my favourite.

Then the entire card was complete with this fun little lining for the envelopes, it's the little things that make it great.

Inspiration in the suburbs

I've made a few hundred of these cards now and I never get tired of looking at them, each time I put the combination together something very interesting appears. This one made me stop in my tracks - I loved this combination of road map and card! I dropped everything to take this photo and as soon as the photo was done I had to package it up for delivery.

I now I would like to welcome on board my new retailers and one lucky store received this most special little bundle. The new retailers are: Becker Minty, Finity, Form, Folio books, Four Stones designs, Merrigal gifts, State of Green and Whimsy Gifts.

I hope everyone loves their new cards and I look forward to many more orders to come.
