Letterpress baby announcement

Raina - this one is for you. As promised here is a little sample of the announcements I do as "off-the-shelf" items. I have these 2 designs. This one is where I take an impression of the babies hand and make a plate from this and press it into the paper - I love this one!

Then I have these generic ones that you can fill in - this would suite someone who enjoys handwriting.

Custom sip n' see, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

Then I had this order to customise the generic item. I had so much fun doing this job and it was great to be able to use this design and make it work for the client.

And this is the boys version - snails are that attractive but they do press very well!

Letterpress writing set

Letterpress writing set, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

So...I went to Metropolis bookstore today to show off some cards. Molly is so lovely and the store looks great. I am totally excited that Metropolis will make home to some of my stationery. Including a couple of these army men writing sets. I will make a delivery of cards in about a week...I need to fire up the press and get some printing done.

oobee

oobee, originally uploaded by vinceletterpress.

This is Jerry. He is an oobee made by Leslie Keating. Leslie was my neighbour at the Stitches and Craft Show. When I first met Leslie, she had the most adorable child strapped to her and they both looked like pretty cool chicks. When I got to find out more about Leslie, turns out she is also very talented lady and she knows what she wants.

It was so lovely to meet her, and more than she knows, meeting her inspired me to further pursue my journal making. I have made a few already but I haven't given them much time as my cards have been the focus.

Actually, I loved her work so much, it made me want to drop everything and start sewing. In fact all the crafty ladies that I met at the show made me want to start sewing or silk screen printing or something else - I think I am having a crisis over my direction!

Stitches and Craft Show 2009

This is my stand from the show. I can't believe it has taken me so long to put this up and now it feels like it was such a long time ago. The show was amazing and we met so many amazing people. I can't wait to see what lies ahead for us.

This is a close up of the cards. I had so much fun making my stand and I am so very pleased it all came together, and almost exactly as I had hoped. Everyone loved my clock. I was devastated to learn that it doesn't work anymore.

Take 2 - it's T2!

I have always enjoyed a cup of tea in the morning, in the afternoon and even just before I go to bed, now I have even more reasons to enjoy a cuppa. The lovely folk at T2 have purchased a selection of our gift cards to sell in stores nationwide. I will post images of the cards on display in the next couple of days. So please stop by your nearest T2 store and have a look at our cards on display - I would love to hear what you think!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Saturday at the Sister's Market was insane, it was hot and while it was cool inside the air conditioned comfort of the Town Hall it was way too hot outside and I don't blame you all for staying inside. So you all have another opportunity to shop for some Vince stationery this weekend at Hatch Craft Market.

It is going to be a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you there.

Meet the Press!

This is my Heidelberg t Platen, weighing in at just over 1100kgs, she is the centre piece in the studio, and so amazing to watch in action, a real antique and the serial number tells me it was made in 1948. It constantly teaches me something new and I am more confident running it now than ever before. I love this machine and just like an old car, it has it's quirks but it was really was made to last - a real work horse.

New designs for seeded gift cards

Grow a tree by planting this card!

This card can be planted. It is printed on 100% recycled paper containing Lemon Scented Bottlebrush seeds.
Planting instructions: Soak card in water until soft. Place card on seed raising mix (in pot or ground). Lightly cover with more mix, water and keep moist. Germination should take 7 - 21 days.

I planted one in my garden today!

Samples anyone.

Letterpress really needs to be seen so we encourage all our clients to touch it and hold it before proceeding. Contact us today with your enquiry and we will happily send you a sample of letterpress. It really is beautiful!

I love books!

I have always loved books and could spend hours just looking at covers and flicking through the pages, I have done a lot of book design over the years and only now discovered the art of making them. Here is a sneaky peak of the finished book I made over the weekend. I took one of my favourite cards that I make and stuck it on the front with a raised surface.

Book binding at the CAE

Being a creative person I find myself in a constant pursuit of creativity. This weekend I spent most of my time making a hardcover book at the CAE - Geraldine was amazing and I love my little book.

The final product needs to sit in a book press (or pile of books!) for 24 hours and I will post some photos of it very soon. It's a bit less than perfect but I will keep it forever as a reminder of my first attempt.

And in saying this, that implies that there will be more...oh there will be more..stay tuned!

Time for a cuppa!

Vince is geared for a very busy year next year. I have a full list of market dates and a swag of new pieces. We are working through Christmas and will certainly be taking it at a more leisurely pace for the next couple of weeks.

Vince Website

Our website is almost finished. Here is just one of the pages. This has certainly been a fun project and I can't wait for it to be launched. We are just putting in the final touches.

I will be continuing to use this blog as a useful place for events and other fun stuff.
